Persecuted
In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.(2 Timothy 3:12)
In this charge, Paul told Timothy that people who obey God and live for Christ will be persecuted. Don’t be surprised when people misunderstand, criticize, and even try to hurt you because of what you believe and how you live. Don’t give up. Continue to live as you know you should. God is the only one you need to please.
Peacemaker
He must turn from evil and do good; he must seek peace and pursue it.(1 Peter 3:11)
Too often we see peace as merely the absence of conflict, and we think of peacemaking as a passive role. But an effective peacemaker actively pursues peace. He or she builds good relationships, knowing that peace is a by-product of commitment. The peacemaker anticipates problems and deals with them before they occur. When conflicts arise, he or she brings them into the open and deals with them before they grow unmanageable. Making peace can be harder work than waging war, but it results not in death, but in life and happiness.
Righteousness
Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth(John 17:17).
A follower of Christ becomes righteous (set apart for sacred plan use, prepared and made holy) through believing and obeying the word of God (Hebrews 4:12). He or she has already accepted forgiveness through Christ’s sacrificial death (Hebrews 7:26, 27). But daily application of God’s Word has a purifying effect on our minds and hearts. Scripture points out sin, motivates us to confess, renews our relationship with Christ, and guides us back to the right path.
